ANNIVERSARY PASTRY WHEN LIGHTS IN ALINGSÅS CELEBRATES 25 YEARS THIS AUTUMN
In collaboration with Alströmergymnasiet, Alingsås Energi has developed a Lights pastry for the 25th anniversary this autumn.
It is Ellen Svensson, teacher in the restaurant and food program – bakery and pastry specialization at Alströmergymnasiet, together with her students Matilda Praag, Eszter Kunszt, Anton Folin, and Linnea Olofsson who created the pastry.
The goal was to create something that reflects Alingsås. Potatoes became a natural main component. Therefore, the base consists of a potato mazarin, and along with various layers of oat crisp, salted caramel, marzipan dipped in chocolate, it became a pastry that is easy to eat while standing. This autumn, the pastry will be decorated with the Lights logo in edible paint.
The students have just started their studies but have already had the opportunity to actively participate in the development of the pastry. They have acted as the tasting panel and will continue their work in the autumn when production starts for Lights in Alingsås.
The pastry will be sold during the opening of Lights in Alingsås on October 4 in Museiparken, where students and teachers will be present, and will then be available for purchase at Campus Alingsås throughout the light festival.
