Discover a variety of activities October 2 – November 1, alongside our captivating installations and guided tours. From concerts and exhibitions to running races and shopping events, our program is constantly updated with new experiences.

2/10 Opening night of Lights in Alingsås 2026

Welcome to the opening ceremony of Lights in Alingsås 2026 in Åmanska Park.

From 6:30 PM

  • Purchase and sample this year’s Lights pastry creation. Students from the Alströmer Upper Secondary School Restaurant and Culinary Programme will be on site.
  • Have your photo taken on the red carpet as photography students from Hjälmared capture the evening. Simple costumes inspired by this year’s Lights theme, Stories of Love, will be available to borrow.

7:15 PM

  • Opening speeches by Municipal Director Maria Standar.
  • Live music by the Alingsås-based band Flyrakan.
  • The evening’s host is Marie Keidser von Heijne, Marketing Director at Alingsås Energi.
  • After the opening ceremony, guides will be stationed at the light installations no 1-6 throughout the evening, sharing insights and stories behind the artworks.

Organised by Alingsås Energi in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Education, Alingsås Municipality.

2/10 Lights in Christinae Chursh

YMNA Choir: “I Need”

A collectively created work in which the needy “I” reveals itself to be a human “we”, longing for connection and community with one another.

The lyrics were written by poet Olivia Bergdahl, based on interviews with members of the choir. Composer Paula af Malmborg Ward has created the complex, dramatic and humorous music, with influences from contemporary opera. She will also perform on accordion. The choir is conducted by Veronica Wåhlberg.

Music by Cederberg-Orreteg, Björk, Pamintuan, Rydén and Radiohead.

23/10 Country Night at Dahlbogården

Pull on your boots, gather your friends, and get ready for a memorable evening filled with lively live music and great company. The bands Andreas Carlsson & The Moonshine Band and Cimarron Ballroom will bring plenty of energy and authentic country vibes for a true country music experience.

For those who would like to enjoy something to eat during the evening, we will be offering a menu featuring popular favorites. And of course, a selection of drinks will be available from the bar.

24 October, 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM – Fully booked.

24/10 Drop-in Wedding Ceremony at Nolhaga Castle

On October 24, Alingsås Municipality and Alingsås Energi invite you to a drop-in wedding ceremony at Nolhaga Castle.

Right in the midst of Lights in Alingsås and this year’s theme Stories of Love, the doors open to a romantic day filled with light, history, and love in one of the city’s most beautiful settings ❤️

The newly renovated 19th-century castle has been carefully restored using historical colors, a grand salon, and beautiful details inspired by the original interiors from 1879. Surrounded by the lush castle park and illuminated by magical light installations, it creates a fairy-tale setting to say “I do.”

31/10 Stories of Love – consert at Nolhaga Slott

Kärlek, Liebe, Amore, Love

Through song and harp, Karin Funk and Ivanna Melnichuk Fridh bring love to life in many different languages and musical expressions.

Music from a variety of genres is woven together, from opera and musical theatre to folk songs and beloved love songs, telling stories of what unites us as human beings, regardless of language or where we come from.

Stories of Love is a concert for the heart, a moment to dream, to feel, and to be moved by the music of love. An evening where love transcends all boundaries.

1/11 Final day of Lights in Alingsås 2026

Take the opportunity to see the light installations one last time.

Go on your own, with the audio guide in the Lights in Alingsås app or join a guided tour.

The light installations will be lit all day on November 1 from dusk to midnight. The sound will be played from dusk to 10 pm.
