The lighting trail for 2025 is announced
The theme this year is Movies in Lights. The lighting designers will draw inspiration from the world of film/cinema, aiming to create an unforgettable experience for all visitors.
This year’s lighting trail is 2.5 kilometers long and designed to be as accessible as possible.
“We always aim for a trail that starts in the city center and combines urban environments with nature and water”, says Camilla Boström, Event Manager for Lights in Alingsås.
The trail starts, as usual, in Åmanska Parken and follows the Lillån river past Alingsås Energi’s building Ljuset, through Paradisparken where Children’s Lights is located, and continues down towards Lugnet. From there, it moves along Sidenvägen to Plantaget, through the tunnel near Christinae Church, and then along both Kungsgatan and Nygatan, ending at Lillån with the final installation. Along the route, there will be additional smaller installations – known as Highlights.
This year’s workshop installations:
1.Ljuset – Amardeep M Dugar, based in India
2. Udden – Roberto Corradini, based in Italy
3. Nolhaga Berg – Cristina Mordeglia & Sjoerd van Beers, based in the Netherlands
4. Bron/Utsikten – Isabel Villar, based in Sweden
5. Träddungen – Philip Rose, based in UK
6. Lillån – Meta Romanens & Niken Wulandari Sutanto, based in Switzerland and Germany
The workshop week runs from September 26 – October 4, and Lights in Alingsås 2025 will illuminate the city from October 3 – November 2.
