Visitor Record and Praise for Lights in Alingsås 25th Anniversary
Nearly 90,000 people visited the 25th anniversary of Lights in Alingsås during the 31 days of the light festival! With extra highlights and more, the light festival reached a new visitor record. Many visitors appreciated additional features, such as the video projection on the Museum Wall, which offered new experiences beyond the already fantastic light installations created during the workshop.
Attendance was highest on weekends, and as usual, the autumn break week attracted many visitors. Alingsås was unusually busy that week, as many took the chance to enjoy the light walk each evening along the 3 km trail in the mild, dry autumn weather – frequently more than once.
The theme, The Magical World of Mythology, sparked great curiosity and interest. Meanwhile, the shop window competition and extended evening hours in shops contributed to a lively atmosphere in the town center, where many visitors also took the opportunity to explore the city’s cafés and restaurants.
“To attract so many visitors to our beautiful town for an entire month outside of peak season is truly fantastic, making Alingsås and Lights in Alingsås unique,” says Claes Andreasson, Event Project Manager at Alingsås Municipality.
Visitors shared their enthusiasm on social media: “This year’s Lights in Alingsås is the best I’ve seen in all these years. The trail length was just right, and the signage was excellent!” wrote one satisfied visitor on Facebook. “Fun for the young ones and cozy for us adults. Wonderful to see so many people out in town!” commented another. “A perfect activity for the autumn break! Great for a light walk with loved ones,” said a third. “This year’s magical theme was truly something special!”
Praise has poured in for this year’s edition, and Lights in Alingsås continues to be a favorite during the dark autumn evenings.
