Lights in Alingsås won best event of the year

Alingsås Energi was awarded first prize for 2022’s best lighting design event at the [d]arc awards ceremony in London on Thursday, beating out numerous international events.

The [d]arc awards are organized by arc magazine, a globally recognized lighting design publication.
The awards competition is divided into several categories, including Structure, Places, Spaces, Art Event, and Kit (architectural indoor and outdoor lighting).

Camilla Boström, the event manager for Lights in Alingsås, expressed delight and gratitude for the win and acknowledged the support of their industry colleagues who voted for them. She also stated that it was proof of Lights in Alingsås’ prominent place in the lighting design world.

The jury for the awards consisted of people who are active in the lighting design industry. Only established lighting designers and artists could vote, and they were not allowed to vote for their own or their company’s entry.

Maria Björsson, the Lights in Alingsås manager, expressed her delight with the win, stating that their unique concept of combining a workshop with international lighting designers and students to create Lights in Alingsås has put the town on the world map.
