VANDALIZATION AND THEFTS ON THE LIGHTING TRAIL

On several repeated occasions in the last two weeks, one or more people have vandalized this year’s installations. Some fixtures have even been stolen.

– These are installations with many hours of hard work and planning behind them. It’s sad that they can’t be left alone. The incidents have been reported to the police, says Event Manager Camilla Boström.

Alingsås Energi´s technicians are out and about the loop every morning for possible operational errors and restore what may have happened the night before. Even the security company Securitas is walking along the trail sevarl times every evening.

– If the thefts continue, we will see if we have to scale back the event for next year, maybe only have half as many sites, if we have to spend half the budget on security, says Frida Almqvist, Workshop Manager.

We would like to ask the public to keep their eyes open so that we can continue with our dear Lights! Think how dark Alingsås would have been during October without this event.
